I am a porcelain artist.
I enjoy living and working in the majestic Rocky Mountains with my rancher/ architect husband. I am inspired by the beauty of my surroundings and the history of this land and it’s inhabitants.
I was born with wanderlust and have the need to travel and explore. I bring my findings and experiences back to my studio where they manifest in my work. Included in these experiences are three residencies in Jingdezhen, China and two at the New Harmony Clay Project in Indiana. Six trips to Europe, five to Mexico, and travels through forty-five of our great American States, have all fed me as I seek out clay work and kindred spirits.
This year I celebrate my Golden Jubilee as a clay artist! 50 years and going strong. I still find the excitement of Christmas morning every time I open a kiln. I am grateful to all who have helped me on this journey starting at Sienna Heights College in Adrian, Michigan, through graduating from DAA at the University of Cincinnati, and post grad studies at Indiana University. There were also many art center clay studios, workshops, NCECA Conferences, and my latest favorite, the Southwest Kiln Conference, where so many have generously given of their time and expertise. Thanks to all!
Home in these gorgeous mountains, I enjoy selling my work at our local, summer Farmer’s Markets. For the past 22 years I have participated in the Aspen Saturday Market, Minturn Farmer’s Market, Dillon Farmer’s Market, and the Vail Farmer’s Market and Art Show. This summer I will be at Minturn on Saturdays from July 3rd to September 4th, and on Sundays at Vail from June 20th to October 2nd. Please visit their websites to see all the amazing fellow vendors with their unique Colorado-made wares and do stop by my booth when you visit to say hello. My work is also available year round at the Landings Mercantile in Beaver Creek and on this website. Please feel free to email me on the contact page for available work or commissions.
Thank you so much for your interest and support of American hand-made ceramic functional ware and artwork.
